Player Scouting Report

Players Scouting Reviewer : mgomes429 . Position :Tight End [TE]

He is not very fast but its solid. Its typical TE speed mid 4.7's to low 4.8's.
Pass Catching
He is a very sure handed TE and he knows how to utilize his body to secure the catch.
Route Running
He is a very technically sound route runner and has good initial quickness. He just lacks top end athletism so he wont win right away.
He is very strong and you can really see it escpecially when he makes catches in traffic. he is very good at securing the catch throiugh contact. Also keep in mind he is 6"5 256.
Run Blocking
He needs to be more physical at the point of block. he has the size to drive defenders off the ball and does not showcase the strength he's capable of.
He has got some quickness to his game which allows him to be a good route runner. But he does not posess fluid hips for easy transition after catch.
Run After Catch
He is physical and uses his body to run through contact. He does not have the agility to make a defender miss and will usually rely on his physcality.
Big Play Ability
He is an in line TE who is more of the balance of blocking and catching with a lack of real explosiviness
He suffered a head injury against Idaho but it was nothing to serious that caused him to miss time.
It was nothing spectacular. It was very average production. 43REC's 507yards in 2019 26REC's 368yards in 2018
I can not judge as I have not met with him.
I don't think there is a lot of upside here in terms of explosive plays. What a team is hoping is consistent reliable target with good production not an explosive threat and mismatch.
He is a reliable target but not a mismatch. The QB play was also inconsitent. He is a consitent route runner and understands his job but will struggle against elite talent.
He is a reliable pass catcher and knows how to utilize his 6"5 256lbs frame well. He showcased in ability to make the catch through contact and this is one of the most important traits a TE can have. He is also a playe with high football IQ and understands route running.
He is a non threat as an explosive playmaker. He will not outrun good defenders or make any explosive plays. He is a balnced TE with limited playmaking ability. He is also a player that needs to work on his physcality as a blocker because more often than not he just goes through the motion and fails to drive through the block.
Overall Analysis
He is a solid prospect but nothing overly impressive. He is a player who will do his job and be efficent but he lacks explosove playmaking ability. Round 1 elite TE's needs to be vertical threats and physical at the point of block and he is neither. There is limited upside and he will be more of a technically sound player than that of a playmaker which is fine; just look at Jason Witten. Projected (Late Round 1 to Mid 2nd) Personal Projection (Late 3rd)
