Good arm strength, can deliver the ball to all levels of the field. Can put some zip behind it when he has to.
Short Accuracy (1-10 yds)
Usually very accurate in the short game.
Imtermediate Accuracy (10-20 yds)
Also pretty accurate on the second level, but loses a little bit of his accuracy the farther downfield he goes.
Long Accuracy (20+ yds)
Has the arm to make the deep throws, his long balls just aren't on target as much as you'd like to see. His WR's are open enough to where it doesn't always matter, but he leaves some yardage on the field when he can't hit them in stride.
Good pocket presence, can navigate the pocket but is far more comfortable leaving it and throwing on the run which can get scary at times.
Very agile and slippery as a runner, he has really good mobility.
Doesn't always see the underneath defenders which can lead to INt's when the defense runs zone coverage.
Nice quick, effortless release of the ball. Also can maintain good mechanics off platform and on the run as well.
Been hurt a little bit here and there, but nothing major at Ole Miss.
Haven't heard anything bad, but also haven't heard anything outstanding about his leadership either.
It seems like he feels like he has to do everything himself on offense, which leads to some offensive disruption when he's not playing well.
Probably has a little bit too much belief in his arm. He tries to fit balls into windows that he just can't make, which leads to some INT's.
Listed at 6'1 200 lbs, so a little shorter than you'd like but it doesn't seem like it deters him all that much due to his play style.
Of the two Ole Miss QB's, he's considered more of the thrower but he's got some speed to him as well. I'd guess in the 4.6's.
Can make a lot of big plays that wow you, then on the very next play makes a questionable decision that puts his team in a bad spot.
Thrown for all sorts of yards and TD's in Lane Kiffin's system.
Has a lot of confidence in his abilities, and his teammates buy into it too which is a positive.
Reportedly got into a fight in High School and had to transfer.
Could use more consistency with taking care of the football and not always trying to hit the home run on every play.
Accurate and mobile QB who is a perfect fit in Lane Kiffin's system. Also has a good arm, and displays good touch when necessary.
Decision making and deep accuracy are the two that come to mind first, he's gotta stop forcing the ball into coverage so often. He threw 6 picks against Arkansas for crying out loud, and lost a fumble in the game too for 7 total turnovers.
Has a lot of Johnny Manziel in him, and that's both a positive and a negative. Tends to force a lot of throws, but he's also very accurate as a passer. Completing over 70% of his passes but a lot of those are gimme's in screens, swings passes, etc. He needs to work on his decision making and ball security before he becomes a legit NFL QB prospect.
