Adequate arm strength. His best throw is the out route. This is due to his throws being high and away. he lacks velocity but makes up for it, by making throws that are easy for his receivers to catch.
Short Accuracy (1-10 yds)
Often misses throws to the flat. check out championship game against Alabama in the 2018 nation Championship late in the 2nd quarter. Wide open TE/FB in the flats missed him high. 2nd QT (3:16)
Imtermediate Accuracy (10-20 yds)
tremendous through and placement although incomplete. 1st QT with 2:30 to go throws a beautiful ball to the sidelined that was well defended but nonetheless his best type of throw. Its interesting that he often showcases this ability to throw to the sideline but airmails it on short throws and under throws it on deep. I believe the sideline makes him more confident because it makes it tough for the defender to make a play and allows Jake to let loose.Another throw is in the 2nd QT with (9:05).
Long Accuracy (20+ yds)
he misses deep at times due to his lack of arm strength. Even though often his throws have enough touch to make it in easy catch often its incomplete because there is not enough velocity but rather to much ark.Check 13:45 in National Championship against Alabama. poorly thrown football get ripped away from receiver and intercepted.
It fine shows some toughness. Needs to get quicker reading through progressions but overall willing to take a hit. Does not have the arm strength to throw off his pack foot when plays break down. Often throws off his back foot are high.does panic with pressure in his face and does not have the requisite arm to throw of his back foot.
He has solid mobility able to move around well enough to make plays with his feet. Right before the half of the national championship of 2018 showcases his ability to get yards with his feet.
Needs to read defenses faster and must improve his play recognition. In the NFL teams often disguise their coverages.
Has very solid mechanics and a good base.
Has stayed mostly healthy through college.
Its solid most of his mistakes come when he is under pressure and he panics within the pocket.
He is solid at 6'2 220. This more than adequate for the NFL level.
Solid maybe high 4.8s.
Has improved from 2018. Against Notre Dame on 9/22/19 delivers a great throw with 4:30 minutes in the 3rd QT.
Very average and not that great
Can develop in to a solid starter if he learns how to read defenses better.
I have not met with him so i can not be sure on this. He beat out Jacob Eason so he cant be to bad.
He solid his completion percentage is above 60% so thats good.
Throws a very good out route. Gives him advantages during two minute drills. has improved in 2019 by reading through progressions faster. Has also improved his deep accuracy.Anticipation and timing has also been improved
Pocket presence is still a bit shaky. Does not posses a great arm but that is not a huge concern.
If he learns to go through his progressions faster I believe he has a chance to develop in to a good starter. Now he must have talent around him. He needs a good offensive line a TE and a receiver.
