Decent arm, nothing crazy but above average for a college QB.
Short Accuracy (1-10 yds)
Sometimes misses in the quick game, could be a timing issue with his WR's or maybe he's just not that accurate at this level of the field. He has good touch at the second and third level so that leads me to believe it's a timing thing.
Imtermediate Accuracy (10-20 yds)
Got good touch at the second level.
Long Accuracy (20+ yds)
Throws a pretty deep ball, gets lots of loft under it and lets his WR's run under it.
Good pocket presence, can feel pressure and escape in time to make plays with his legs.
Very mobile, can escape pressure with his feet.
Seems to display good vision of the field.
Has a bit of an odd throwing motion, it's pretty clunky and will need to be worked on in the NFL.
Has started a bunch of games for Cinn. but has had a shoulder injury as well.
Coaches have been complimentary of his leadership entering his Senior season.
Effective game manager who can keep the chains moving and doesn't get in the way.
Not always the best in this area, he tries to force some throws that just aren't there. However; when he does this, it usually ends up as a an incompletion rather than an INT which is good.
Listed at 6'4 215lbs.
Has good speed, I'd guess around a 4.6 40 yard dash.
solid playmaker who can buy time with his feet and deliver a strike downfield when it's there.
Hasn't exactly lit it up in this Cincinnati offense but they ask him to be more of a game manager than the focal point of an offense, which he is more than capable of.
Smart QB who's good at keeping the offense on track and getting everyone around him organized.
Really good leader from everything I've heard, hard worker too.
He's become a lot more consistent as an upperclassman, which is encouraging.
Good arm, good touch, good mobility. Very good game manager for his offense.
The mechanics are an issue for sure. His decision making isn't always there and I wonder about the competition in the AAC, not exactly notorious for great defensive play.
He's a really good college QB in his conference, but I think that's all he is. His mechanics are a little clunky, his decision making isn't the greatest and it's a little worrisome they don't ask him to do more. Kinda tells me he's best suited as a game manager and not a real focal point of an offense. Late-round, developmental prospect in my eyes.
