Speed
8.30
Olave utilizes his speed to create separation down the field and generate run after the catch on underneath routes.
Pass Catching
8.20
He has reliable hands and rarely drops passes, his only difficulties here come when he has jump balls down the field.
Route Running
8.90
Very polished route running on most types of routes that allows him to create separation when lining up on the outside and in the slot.
Strength
0.00
Vertical Ability
7.10
Olave does a great job of adjusting to under thrown balls down the field, but struggles coming down with catches on contested jump balls due to his lack of top end size.
Run after Catch
7.60
He has shown elusiveness on underneath routes that helps him gain extra yards. However, he can't quite seem to really take shorter routes past the defense to the house.
Catching in Traffic
8.00
Struggles to hold on with well timed hits, but mostly comes down with balls in traffic that he can get both hands on.
Big Play Ability
8.60
Averaging about 17.5 yards per catch in 2019 with 12 TDs, Olave has great big play potential. As seen in big games vs Clemson, Penn State, and Wisconsin, Olave can get himself wide open down the field and generate game changing plays.

Deep Threat
8.40
Along the sideline and deep over the middle Olave can find himself wide open a couple times per game. Top end size hinders his ability to catch some contested lobs.
Over the Middle
7.90
Olave is very good deep over the middle, but can improve a bit on underneath and intermediate production over the middle.

Strengths
Olave's speed and elite route running ability. He is able to find space all across the field whether on short, intermediate, or deep routes. Olave also has reliable hands and does a good job adjusting to under thrown balls down the field.
Weaknesses
At 6'1" Olave doesn't have the top end size to go up and make catches on jump balls down the field consistently.
Overall Analysis
Olave's superb route running ability allows him to create separation all around the field. He had a really productive sophomore campaign in 2019 with 12 TDs and 850 yards and has the potential to improve on that production in 2020 with the departures of KJ Hill and Binjimen Victor. Aside from real top end size, Olave doesn't have any real deficiencies in his game, and his skills should translate well to the next level.
