Arm Strength/Power
6.00
His arm strength is average at best. He throws a catchable football but can underthrow certain deep balls. Check vs William and Mary 10:09 1st QT.
Short Accuracy (1-10 yds)
5.50
He can be hot and cold on his accuracy and normally is more comfortable running RPO's.
Imtermediate Accuracy (10-20 yds)
5.50
His accuracy in the middle of the field can be inconsistent often times forcing his receivers to adjust to the football.
Long Accuracy (20+ yds)
5.50
He underthrows his deep ball because of his lack of arm strength. Some of his better throws are when he scrambles and torques his hips to get more velocity on his throws.
Pocket Presence
6.50
He is mobile so he tends to escape the pocket more often than not but will stand in there occasionally and deliver a throw.
Mobility
7.50
His best trait by far. He is able to elude pressure and create plays using his feet.
Vision
5.60
Not a very polished QB in terms of scanning the field and identifying the defense. He often relies on his athleticism to get him out of trouble rather than his ability to diagnose defenses
Mechanics
6.50
They are solid but can use improvement with pocket movement in terms of dipping his shoulder to avoid rushers rather than just scrambling when there is pressure.
Durability
5.50
In 2016 he had a scary neck injury which should be something to monitor.
Leadership
5.00
I can not judge this as I have not met him before.
Game Management
5.50
He would improve his game in a system that involves quick passing and RPO's. His game management though would not be something I would trust though on a consistent base due to his inaccuracies.
Decision-Making
6.00
Often times he could be to eager to run and needs to trust his eyes more in making reads.
Size
8.00
6'3 215 is very good size for a QB.
Speed
8.00
He probably runs in the range of the mid 4.5s and 4.6s
Play-Making Ability
6.50
He often makes plays when he escapes the pocket and runs. He can also keep a play alive and wait for a reciever to get open due to his mobility.
Productivity
6.00
He is a 2 to 1 TD to Interception guy.
Intangibles
7.00
He has got room to grow and become an average QB at best. Honestly, though I see him as more of a backup with inconsistent play.
Character
5.00
I can not judge this as I have not met him personally.
Consistency
5.50
He is not the most accurate QB and I don't trust he is consistent enough to lead a football team in the NFL at this time.
Strengths
Mobility is probably his best strength. He is able to create plays outside the pocket with his arm and his legs giving defenses something extra to gameplan for.
Weaknesses
He is very inconsistent with his throws and does not have good ball placement on his throws. He often is too eager to leave the pocket and run. He also does not scan the field effectively which affects timing routes and him being late with the ball at times. Also, something to keep in note is the neck injury he suffered in 2016.
Overall Analysis
He is a developmental prospect with athletic upside. He needs to develop as a passer and will benefit from sitting a few years behind a veteran QB and then possibly he can have a chance. Projection Day 3 (Rounds 6-7) Look at someone to take a flier on him late in the 6th or mid 7th round.
