Arm Strength/Power
After watching all MSU QB's as of Kirk Cousins, I can confidently say he has the strongest arm of potential of any that I've watched.
Short Accuracy (1-10 yds)
Decent, lot of overall inaccuracy has to do with poor mechanics and footwork bc of coaching.
Imtermediate Accuracy (10-20 yds)
Decent, lot of overall inaccuracy has to do with poor mechanics and footwork bc of coaching.
Long Accuracy (20+ yds)
Decent, lot of overall inaccuracy has to do with poor mechanics and footwork bc of coaching.
Pocket Presence
Moves well in the pocket despite being under pressure very, very, very often.
Mobility
Plays at a faster speed than he tests.
Vision
Has very inconsistent vision. Seems to lack progression from Freshman season which I blame on poor offensive coaching.
Mechanics
Poor offensive coaching. No coach turnover in his 4 years. Means there is potential there.
Durability
Most injury issues I contribute to the large amount of hits. Never felt he had glass bones though.
Leadership
Too many times he seemed to be whimpering on the sideline instead of talking with teammates or trying to hype them up.
Game Management
For the team he played w/ I thought he did a fine job. Obviously could've been better but I think a lot of picks were him trying to make plays in an offense that prohibited it.
Decision-Making
Another that I believe comes from poor coaching. Saw little improvement over his years.
Size
Great size and potential.
Speed
Play speed, not 40 time at combine
Play-Making Ability
Seemed to have an "it factor" at times at MSU despite constantly being held back in a poor offensive scheme. Think he could be helped with development.
Productivity
Definitely could have been better with a lack of progression through the years. Did well with what was handed to him, which wasn't much.
Intangibles
Going back to the "it factor"
Character
Haven't seen anything to say he's a bad guy, but haven't seen much in the way of leadership either...
Consistency
Poor coaching... am I a broken record yet?
Strengths
Size, Play Speed, Arm Talent, It Factor, Potential
Weaknesses
Decision Making, Mechanics, Lack of development, Poor coaching means years lost of development, played in poor scheme in college
Overall Analysis
Plenty of arm talent and potential but lacks the development and polish you hope to see from a senior leader from a well'known football program. Definitely needs time on a practice squad or in the XFL. Has loads of potential but needs the right coach to help with the mechanics and footwork.
