Overall Game Assessment
Liverpool did not actually play a bad game in this one - regardless of what the score was. It actually took some great goals from Suarez in the 1st half, a lucky deflection on the 2nd, and an absolutely perfect set piece from Messi late to pull this game away. Meanwhile, Liverpool could not catch a break. Salah's open net shot late in the 2nd half rebounded right off the post. Messi showed why he is such a good player - Liverpool had no answer for him and Suarez gave them all they can handle too. Tough one for them and now they have an almost impossible deficit to claw back from.

They probably needed some more punch in 2nd half. Defense had trouble containing Suarez
