Overall Game Assessment
A dream start for USA. There is nothing negative to say about their performance. As a unit they were able to score early and continue to apply pressure and score goals. I do feel bad for Thailand, it is unfair to give them F's as their grades, but USA was just unfair and this game was out of their reach. USA achieved all their objectives this match and set the bar high

Offense Comments
13 goals... every time I blinked they scored another goal. They were quick on their corner kicks, some long, majority short. Their set pieces were outstanding as it set up a couple goals. They valued the ball and kept it moving creating openings, once they had those 3 goals in the first half it allowed them to totally dominate possession as the three points were all but secured.

5 goals and 3 assists! Last World Cup she came in with an injury, her minutes were monitored and we did not get to see the real Alex Morgan. Today we all witnessed what she is capable of. Opened up the game with her header, scored a rocket half volley with her left foot as well as a lefty upper 90 finish after pulling away from Rapinoe, was able to take a quick touch and fire her shot. Her third goal showed a cheeky pull back to give herself a yard of space to fire a righty shot back post

Played 33 minutes, was able to score the final goal. Goal #9 started with her at midfield. let the ball roll as she turned and dribbled with pace, knocked it out wide for a perfect cross to be played. Her goal showed her composure as she waited till in front of the net and used the outside of her right foot
Kelley O'Hara (19)
