Week 6 Pick Em

Last Week: 3-2

Overall: 18-7

Oklahoma vs Texas This is obviously one of the best games so far and one of the only major college football rivalries to occur this early in a season. Texas won last year’s game and the underdog has always outperformed expectations in this game but with Jalen Hurts playing well Oklahoma should have too much offense for the Longhorns to keep pace. Oklahoma 40 - Texas 31

Penn State vs Iowa Iowa is a good team with some talent but James Franklin has done wonders with Penn State’s overall depth since taking over. The Nittany Lions are reaping the benefits this season and appear poised to push Ohio State for the BIG Ten title. Iowa played well but came up short at Michigan and Penn State is a better team, although the Hawkeyes are at home. It won’t be enough. Penn State 27 - Iowa 17

San Francisco vs Los Angeles The 49ers are undefeated but injured while the Rams are a game above even and less banged up. Gurley won’t play and Brandon Cooks appears to be a game time decision and the 49ers are down to their 4th and 5th starting tackles already. The Rams have been up and down as of late but appear to be headed towards being the offensive super power that they need to be. The 49ers are dominating teams with their defensive line and their running game. With both teams being banged up I think the edge goes to the 49ers who are built to beat the Rams and Seahawks primarily. 49ers 31  -Rams 30

Carolina vs Tampa Bay These two teams played an exciting game earlier this year and Tampa Bay got a big win. Now Carolina has rallied around their back up quarterback and are riding Christian McCaffery to glory. With a stout defense that is a good plan although one wonders if McCaffery can hold up to 20 touches a game over the course of a full season. They won’t need to ride him so hard this week. Carolina 27 - Tampa Bay 24

Philadelphia vs Minnesota This looks like a hell of a game to watch. The Kirk Cousins “Please don’t hate me wr’s” tour will continue and Stefon Diggs figures to benefit the most this week. The Vikings are at their best when Cousins barely throws the ball, but they won’t beat the better teams without a balanced attack so getting Diggs and Thielen involved early should be a priority moving forward. Minnesota 24 - Philadelphia 21
