Months of speculation ended today as Head Coach Jill Ellis announced the USWNT Olympic Roster. As expected the roster is mostly made up of members of last year's World Cup Championship team, and also as expected, there are a few new faces that have earned their roster spots during the 2016 season so far. The biggest surprise is the roster addition of Allie Long - and it's not a huge surprise for anyone that has been following the USWNT over the last few months. Despite her stated desire to use the Olympics as a step towards the 2019 World Cup Ellis mostly favored experienced players over younger players in most scnerios.
