Derwin James, FSU - Probably the class of the class right now. There is talk that some teams will consider him at cornerback, though I find that unlikely.
Jordan Whitehead, Pittsburgh - I like Whitehead as a true center fielder and I could see him being drafted in the top half of round one if he continues to progress.
Trey Matthews, Auburn - Big hitter with good range. Needs to be more consistent with open field tackling. Matthews could move into the first round.
Ronnie Harrison, Alabama - Looks like a very good - low floor player. Will be in contention for the first round.
Armani Watts, Texas A&M - I want to see more consistency out of Watts. He only had 5 passes defended last season.
Van Smith, Clemson - Had two interceptions as a sophomore. He should build on those numbers this year.
Donnie Miles, North Carolina - Physical in the box safety that is a tackling machine. Will be attractive to teams that like to keep a safety close to the line of scrimmage.
Damon Webb, Ohio State - Converted cornerback is Ohio State’s only returning starter in the secondary. He will be scouted as a free safety by some teams and a cornerback by others.
Marcus Allen, Penn State - Another big bodies in the box safety. Allen has some coverage potential, but he is still at his best when facing the action.
Nick Washington, Florida - Has a single interception and another pass defended before getting hurt last year. He wrestles actual alligators though, so I’m a fan. He also has good athleticism and speed.
