Conference Championship Weekend Pick 'Em

Last Week: 4-1
Season Total: 71-26

Tennessee at Kansas City: The Titans look to continue their incredible run through the post season and have a chance to defeat the top three teams in the AFC before playing in the SuperBowl. Many folks will point to the regular season contest between the two teams as proof that the Titans are ready to run their way to victory, but caution should prevail here. In the regular season the Chiefs still threw for over 400 yards of offense despite Pat Mahomes being hampered with a bum ankle. Now that he is fully healed it seems like he'll be able to make the dynamic plays that he didn't when they first met. Dereck Henry is likely going to be asked to run the ball a lot, and will likely find the same success that he has enjoyed as of late. Unlike the Patriots the Chiefs have an offense that can score quickly enough to mitigate any disadvantages from time of possession. And unlike the Ravens the Chiefs can play, and score, quickly when facing a deficit. The Titans have had a great season but I don't see it continuing. Kansas City 38 - Tennessee 24

Green Bay at San Francisco: Like the AFC match up too many people are focusing on the regular season meeting between these two teams. With Richard Sherman and a deep and talented defensive line the 49ers match up favorably with the Green Bay passing offense that is far too dependent on Davante Adams. Look for the 49ers to find creative blitzes that will keep Aaron Jones occupied as a blocker in order to limit his effectiveness in the passing game while allowing Sherman to take away his normal third of the field. Offensively the 49ers find ways to run the ball, which Green Bay has struggled to stop this year, and are very adept at scheming receivers open. The best hope for the Packers is that a few turnovers allow them to keep the game close until late in the 4th quarter where Aaron Rodgers can win it for them. San Francisco will look to keep that from happening by scoring early and maintaining possession late. San Francisco 34 - Green Bay 24
