How did yesterday’s results impact the UEFA Champions League table? Here is the updated Group standings table and the predictions of who advance to the knockout stage:

Group E remains tight as AS Monaco’s comfortable 3-0 win over CSKA Moscow gives them a small 2 point edge on Bayer Leverkusen. Tottenham sits with 4 points in the group after dropping yesterday’s home match to Bayer 1-0. Heading into the final two matches, Bayer Leverkusen may have an edge as they travel to CSKA and then host Monaco in the group finale. Tottenham has to face Monaco on the road before hosting CSKA in the final game, although a loss to Monaco will leave them fighting for the Europa Cup berth in the final game.

Prediction:

  1. Bayer Leverkusen
  2. AS Monaco

In Group F, Borussia Dortmund has emerged as the new group leader after Legia Warsaw was able to hang in for a miraculous 3-3 draw with Real Madrid. With only 1 point from the game, Madrid yielded the top spot to the Germans, who were able to handle Sporting Lisbon 1-0. Sporting still has a flicker of hope to advance, but Real Madrid only needs one 1 from its next two games to advance. The showdown will be the final match as Dortmund travel to Spain for the finale. That still leaves Real Madrid with an edge in this group.

Group G sees the Premier League champion Leicester City with a comfortable 3 point lead over FC porto heading into the final two games. Although, Leicesters 0-0 draw yesterday with FC Copenhagen swandered their ability to seal their fate. Copenhagen also still has life as they will host FC Porto later this month to determine who will be the second team from this group. Porto’s 1-0 victory over pointless Club Brugge leaves them in a precarious position as they will need at least at least 2 more points to see them through.
