The second day has drawn to a close with 29 total defensive back selections in 107 picks. Cordrea Tankersly and Fabian Moreau were among the two biggest fallers on day two but both were eventually se;ected in the third round. Carl Lawson was not despite being a top 40 prospect based off his workouts and game tape. Clearly Lawson's medical exams found something that concerns teams, otherwise he would have been a later first or early second round selection.

The day saw a lot of trading, and may of the third round details are still being distributed to the media, so day 2 thoughts will be more complete tomorrow, but for now the Bengals had a good say, as did the Chargers. The Browns and 49ers each finally took quarterbacks, Indianapolis and Miami both did a lot to rebuild their defense, and the Rams added a couple of dependable targets for Jared Goff. The Titans continued to perplex with their overdrafting of players.

Seattle selects Amara Darboh and Tampa Bay selects Kendall Beckwith to close out the night.

San Francisco selected quarterback CJ Beathard after the trade up.

The Seahawks select Nazair Jones, as they continue to add depth to their defensive line. And the Saints selected Trey Hendrickson. The 49ers have traded back into the third.

Denver selects Brendan Langley.

Titans take Jonnu Smith

The Eagles select Rasul Douglas.

The Cardinals took Chad Williams.

The Dolphins took Cordrea Tankersly. While we wait for the NFL to release the other 4 selections that have already been made, I would like to point out the excellent value of this selection. Tankersly could start in Miami this year.

The Lions took Kenny Golladay.

The Seahawks select Delano Hall.

The Steelers select Cameron Sutton.

Green Bay selected Montravious Adams... half an hour ago.

The Cowboys selected Michigan cornerback Jourdan Lewis.

Seattle selected Shaquill Griffin and then collectively ran a marathon while waiting for the NFL to announce the pick. And then the Rams selected John Johnson.

The Raiders took Eddie Vanderdoes and the Texans took D'onta Foreman.

The Giants did the next best thing and took a quarterback that can play after Eli Manning is broken in half by October, from not having a viable left tackle. Davis Webb is the pick.

The Giants and Raiders have both selected at this point. It seems.....optimistic to expect the Giants to have selected an offensive tackle.

The Chiefs select Kareem Hunt.

Patriots take Antonio Garcia from Troy.

I'd like to congratulate all of the 2017 Pro-Bowl players, whose names we will know before the NFL finishes announcing the third round selections.

Chris Godwin flew to Tampa in the time it took the NFL to announce his selection.

The Pats take Derek Rivers, but also manage to trade up to two spots later and make that selection as well before this pick is announced. Bucs picked someone 5 minutes ago.

Denver takes Carlos Henderson. FWIW, New England has been high on Carl Lawson reportedly.

Washington, Denver, and New England make quick choices. Fabian Moreau is great value for Washington. Denver takes...

The Colts select Tarell Bashem.

Baltimore heads back to Alabama for Tim Williams....and again 3-4 picks are turned in before we get this pick. Two tide players go back to back as the Jets take Ardarius Stewart.

Carolina adds Daeshon Hall.

The Saints add Alex Anzalone. That's good value for the Saints. Anzalone should start for the team.

The Falcons select Duke Riley

Baltimore adds Michigan defensive lineman Chris Wormley.

Tennessee selects Taywan Taylor and the Bengals select Jordan Willis.

The Chargers take another offensive lineman in Dan Feeny. The Chargers got the top 2 guards on most boards.

The Rams select Cooper Kupp. The 49ers acquired the Saints second round selection in next year's draft giving them extra choices in both the second and third in a year in which they will likely be looking for their quarterback of the future. For the Saints the trade makes sense because this is likely Drew Brees' last with the team and adding a contributor now will help the team make a deeper run into the playoffs. While I was typing the Vikings selected Pat Effein.

The Jaguars select DeWayne Smoot.

The Saints trade up with the 49ers and select Alvin Kamara.

The 49ers seect Ahkello Witherspoon.

Cleveland selects Larry Ogunjbi.

The Panthers close out the second round with Taylor Moton.

The Bills trade up with Atlanta and select Dion Dawkins.

Green Bay selects Josh Jones and the Steelers select Juju Smith-Schuster.

Dallas selects Chidobe Awuzie.

The Chiefs selected Tanoh Kpassagnon

The Texans just stole Zach Cunningham. The Seahawks took Ethan Pocic.

The Raiders select Obi Melafonwu.

The Giants select Dalvin Tomlinson. The NFL needs to up their game. I understand the need for ratings but teams are now two selections ahead of the league in announcing them. If they expect their media partners to not reveal picks then they need to do a better job of announcing them.

The Dolphins choose Raekwon McMillan.

The NFL is so slow that Miami took 5 minutes of their time and turned their card, the the GIants quickly turned  their card in before Detroit's pick has been announced. The Lions select  Teez Tabor. Interesting note about the last pick, Davis Webb was thought to be Hue Jackson's preferred quarterback, although that was between Trubisky, Watson, and Webb. It will be interesting to see who decided to take Kizer over Webb.

Cleveland selects Deshone Kizer. And before the Browns pick is announced Detroit hands in their card.

Denver selects Demarcus Walker.

Teams seem to be really zeroed in on who they want at this point as Washington makes another quick selection with . Ryan Anderson and the Bucs follow that up with Justin Evans.

And the Bengals quickly snatch up Joe Mixon.

The Ravens quickly snatch up Tyrus Bowser.

The Colts take another defensive back with Quincey Wilson.

The Bears select Adam Shaheen.

Los Angeles' first selection of the draft is Gerald Everett.

They took Sidney Jones instead. Jones would have been a top ten player. He's good value here.

I expect the Eagles to select Mixon here.

The Saints continue to overhaul their secondary with Marcus Williams.

Minnesota trades up and selects Dalvin Cook.

Carolina selects Curtis Samuel. The Panthers have really opened up their offense.

The Jets take Marcus Maye.

San Diego takes Forrest Lamp.

Nope. The Bills take Zay Jones.

Buffalo traded up with Los Angeles, most likely for a quarterback.

Nope. The Cardinals take Buda Baker.

Arizona traded up with Chicago, most likely for a quarterback

Seattle takes Malik McDowell.

The Jaguars traded up with Seattle to take Cam Robinson.

The Packers select Kevin King.

Green Bay is on the clock.

Day 2 looks likely to start with at least one move up to #33 or 34 as multiple teams appear to be interested in Cal quarterback Davis Webb. As we did yesterday we'll be updating this post throughout the evening with updated selections, rumors, and thoughts.
