Season Outlook Analysis

Offense
Position
Quarterbacks
A
A lot more expectations this season for Deshaun Watson after surpassing all expectations last year. Coming back from a torn ACL will be both mentally and physically difficult. I do not expect him to miss a beat though.
Running Backs
B-
Texans do not have the strongest running game. Cannot move the chains on a consistent basis. Solid pass protectors. Lamar Miller has not shown much explosiveness the last few seasons. Foreman has a chance to win the job. He is a hard runner that is difficult to bring down. Decent pass catchers. Tyler Ervin brings them a different dynamic as a smaller, shifty, and speedy pass catching back.
Protection & Blocking
C
Need to provide Watson with more time in the pocket. Losing Duane Brown will be difficult to replace.
Receiving
A-
One of most underrated receivers in the game in DeAndre Hopkins. An all around receiver with great instincts. Great route runner, strong hands, and long catching radius. Then you have Will Fuller to complement him as an exceptional down field threat. Both are big playmakers. Whoever is open, Watson will find you. Tight end group lacks talent.

Skills Analysis Notes
Deshaun Watson makes them an explosive offense. He is capable of making all the throws. More than capable runner but is a pass first quarterback. Makes winning plays. Good playmakers around him to finish plays. The game will slow down for the second year quarterback and Watson has MVP potential.

Defense
Position
Defensive Line
A
Houston has a strong front 7. Extremely difficult to game plan against with JJ Watt on one side and Clowney on the other. They can get after the quarterback as well as plug away running gaps.
Linebackers
B-
Speed and hard hitters at all positions.
Defensive Backs
B
The addition of the Honey Badger will provide them a serious ball hawk in the secondary. He has outstanding instincts. Will have plenty of opportunities to make plays from the pressure put on by the front 7.

Skills Analysis Notes
They are a solid defense at all three levels. Health will be the biggest concern as many of their superstars have had injury histories in Watt, Clowney, and New addition Mathieu. Has potential to be top defense with all the play makers.

Overall Coaching / School Analysis
Bill O'Brien has done a good job in tenure at Houston. Now he finally has a beyond competent QB to work with and groom. Can be a special pairing. Romeo Crennel has always been a great defensive coordinator with great blitzing packages. A solid coaching staff.

Analysis
In a soft division, they have the capabilities to run away with it. Complete team with outstanding leadership on both sides of the ball. Expect them to cruise into the playoffs as long as everyone remains healthy throughout the season.

Expectations/ Outlook
Dark horse Super Bowl team. Health is their main adversity to overcome. Young and poised quarterback that is ready to win at all costs. Proven track record as a winner in college. Outstanding leadership on both sides of the ball. Has a disruptive defense that will put relentless pressure on opposing QBs. A team that is ready to be playoff relevant for the next few years.
